CONCLUSION
SPOT 5 brings to SPOT family continuity and major improvements: higher resolution (HRG-Supermode), better stereoscopy (HRS=> DEM)
- SPOT data (ex: Images + DEM) could be combined to get end user products (flight simulation, 3D perspectives, ..)
- SPOT could be integrated with SAR data (ERS, Radarsat) for operational applications at international level (ex: Disaster Charter)
- CNES and ISPRS have set up an HRS Scientific Assessment Program
PLEIADES, the future CNES EO program, is a multi applications, multi sensors, multi partnerships program, to be decided step by step.
- A French-Italian Agreement already allows to have two components of Pléiades within ORFEO (Optical HR and X band SAR)
Beyond the integration of satellite data for some mature applications (ex: cartography) they is still a need for better integration of satellite data/ products with other sources (field survey, airborne data, ..) which required improved image processing and understanding, terrain and landscape modeling, to be developped in partnership between Space Agencies, Scientists and End Users.
