Call for Papers --------------- MRSS19 - Munich Remote Sensing Symposium 2019 September 18-20, 2019 Munich, Germany http://www.mrss.tum.de The importance of remote sensing for the observation of our Earth and other planets is continuously growing, especially since more and more spaceborne data has become freely available to the public via the Landsat and Sentinel missions. In order to reach the goal of remote sensing, i.e. to map our environment both semantically and topographically, methods and algorithms from fields such as signal processing, image processing, computer vision and machine learning need to be combined with sensor- and target-specific domain expertise. MRSS19 seeks to foster the development of approaches from those fields dedicated to remote sensing data analysis. Conference topics: ------------------ - Exploitation of high resolution space images - Semantic segmentation for object detection and land cover mapping - 3D reconstruction from remote sensing data - Geospatial data update and change detection - Super-resolution of imagery - Hyperspectral image processing - Information extraction from synthetic aperture radar (SAR) - Fusion of multi-sensor, multi-resolution and multi-temporal data - Feature extraction and machine learning for earth observation data - Neural networks and deep learning - Domain adaptation and transfer learning for remote sensing - Benchmark datasets for machine learning models - Large-scale mapping and big data - Rapid mapping for environmental applications and disaster management - Applications in agriculture, forestry, hydrology, and geology - Small satellites and satellite constellations for mapping Paper Submission: ----------------- Prospective authors are invited to submit a full paper of maximum 8 pages. These papers will undergo a rigorous double blind review process. Accepted papers will be published in "ISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences" This edition indicats on the papers the double-blind peer-reviewed process. The Annals are open access publications, they are published under the Creative Common Attribution 4.0 and are listed in the ISI Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) of the Web of Science, SCOPUS, the E/I Compendex, the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and by Google Scholar (h5-index: 26). Furthermore, authors of selected papers will be invited for a special issue of PFG – Journal of Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformation Science. Extended versions of these papers will undergo a simplified review process. The type of presentation (oral or interactive) will be decided by the program committee and will be dependent upon the subject of the paper and the way it fits to the overall program. Authors who intend to present application oriented work that is in particular suitable for interactive presentation may submit an extended abstract. In case of acceptance by the program committee, these authors are invited to submit a full paper which will be published in "The International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences". Conference Venue: ----------------- The conference will be held in Munich, the capital of Bavaria, and will be hosted by the Chair of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Technical University of Munich (TUM). The workshop site is located at TUM, close to the museum district, and in walking distance to the main station and center of Munich. Important dates: ---------------- - Full papers deadline March 31, 2019 - Abstract deadline April 15, 2019 - Notification of authors June 01, 2019 - Final paper deadline July 15, 2019 - MRSS19+PIA19 conference Sep 18-20, 2019 We apologize for any cross-postings.
