Historical Council Meeting Minutes on the ISPRS Web
Larry Fritz, former ISPRS President (1996-2000) recently acknowledged that his personal archive of ISPRS Council and Joint Meeting Minutes (1980-2006) have now been digitised and are available on the ISPRS website https://www.isprs.org/documents/minutes.aspx.
In the following citation, Larry expressed his pleasure at the publication:
“I've reviewed the Council Minutes on the ISPRS website and am pleased. They, along with Archive (Volume) A's should be of help (a resource) for future Council Members to recognize the issues and magnitude of tasks to be addressed, and to serve as an historical summary of past decisions and the discussions (debates) leading up to them. I often reflect on the blessings ISPRS has had in its choice of leadership throughout our history and how thankful we are for their significant voluntary efforts in promoting our sciences and technologies.”
In a communication to Past President, Christian Heipke, Larry has also offered to ship his personal library to ISPRS Headquarters in Hannover, at his own expense, to complement the ISPRS repository, which was moved to the Technical Information Library (TIB) at Leibniz Universität Hannover in 2014.
“I see that ISPRS … has retained TIB Leibniz Library to digitize and make accessible most of ISPRS publications. This is a very useful resource, especially in the near future as AI matures. I offer (my) publications that may be included to complete some gaps in the historical record.”
